2021 Volkswagen Atlas vs. 2021 Audi Q7: More of Everything for Less

2021 Volkswagen Atlas vs. 2021 Audi Q7: More of Everything for Less

The 2021 model year for the Atlas is proving to be a success. More drivers are discovering that not only does it offer an appealing design, but it delivers a rich amount of luxury and tech within a price range that even luxury vehicle owners are admiring. Two powertrains include both turbo and non-turbo options that satisfy different tastes. Each model also delivers plenty of room for family, friends, and cargo.

To help illustrate the features of the Atlas, we compare it to the 2021 Audi Q7.

Innovations come at a better price in the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas

Just like the Q7, the Atlas features many innovative technologies. The available 10.25" digital cockpit rivals what the Q7 offers. The customizable interface provides the best possible presentation for your eyes, whereas the Q7 only offers pre-programmed viewing modes.

You can also opt for Wireless App Connect through the centre touchscreen, which features Apple CarPlay for iPhone or Android Auto for Android smartphones. All your favourite apps, podcasts, and more are accessible through the Atlas.

The Atlas has no shortage of standard and available driver assistance technologies, too. You can access Side Assist, Front Assist, Lane Assist, Area View 360, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and more.

You will find most of these on the Q7, but to access others you will have to purchase a separate Driver Assistance package that will add another $2,500 to the tens of thousands of dollars more you will have to pay for the Q7.

The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas can also feel just as luxurious as the Q7—for much less

If you like the feel of leather seating surfaces, heated front and rear seats, ventilated and sport front seats, ambient lighting, and other luxuries, the Highline grade level provides this for a starting MSRP of $48,795. The entry price for the Q7 is around $20,000 more—for similar comforts.

The Atlas adds more interior space than the Q7, too. With 2,741L of flexible cargo space, the Atlas also extends its platform to provide true 7-adult seating. The Q7 reduces to hundreds less litres of interior volume, and it comes at a much higher cost.
