Volkswagen once again proved the quality of its electric vehicles by receiving two important awards from the latest Best Retained Value rankings from Canadian Black Book.
Volkswagen was named the best Overall Brand: ZEV for its electric vehicles while the Volkswagen e-Golf was named the best electric car overall for retained value. The e-Golf retains over 57% of its original value after four years, translating into less depreciation, more money in the owner’s pocket and better value overall.
To find the vehicle with the Best Retained Value, the CBB compiles a range of variables that include 19 distinct measurables. The Canadian Black Book is considered the definitive guide to vehicle values in the country and has been finding the vehicles with the best retained value for 15 years now.
“ZEVs are getting much more attention across the board as all OEMs launch new models and plan for the future. The retained value gap between ICEs and ZEVs is closing quickly.” says James Hancock, Director, OEM Strategy and Analytics.
The Volkswagen e-Golf finished ahead of the Chevrolet Bolt as well as the Kia Soul EV in the latest 2021 Canadian Black Book ranking. For Volkswagen which has just introduced the Volkswagen ID.4, this is an important award that serves as proof it the quality of its EVs as well as the value they give their owners.
