What Makes the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Different from Each Other

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport are two very similar vehicles since they share their mechanicals, their platform and even most of their appearance, but they each have distinctive features.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is the largest SUV offered by the brand and it is one of only two to offer a third row of seats, making it capable to carry seven passengers in some versions. This model benefits from its upright shape to offer a very large loading space that contains 583 liters with all of the seats in use, 1,572 liters with the rear-most row folded down and up to 2,741 liters with all of the rear seats folded. This allows very large items or an impressive quantity of luggage to be transported easily.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is offered with two choices of powertrain: the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder and the 3.6L V6 engines, which deliver 235 horsepower and 276 horsepower respectively. These engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the standard 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a trendy coupe-like version of the Atlas which lowers the roof of the SUV and reduces its window space, giving is a more purposeful and stylish appearance that stands out from the competition. To complement this look, the Atlas Cross Sport offers an additional paint colour, which is called pure grey and a difference in interior colour schemes since it offers red and dark beige, two choices that are replaced by light beige and dark brown on the Atlas.

Despite its smaller cargo space when compared with the Atlas, it is still among the most practical vehicles of its category due to its comparatively large load capacity and its passenger space for five passengers.
