The Atlas boasts four trim levels with a new addition—the Peak Edition—while its sibling, the Atlas Cross Sport, retains its three trims. All models, as of 2024, will be powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, punching out 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This power unit outpaces the predecessor's VR6 engine in torque while promising better fuel economy. Moreover, an eight-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system come standard for both models.
Upscale Interiors, Premium Features
The interiors of the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport have received significant upgrades for the 2024 model year, incorporating a plusher, modern feel. Both vehicles feature premium materials including a soft-touch dash and center console trimmed in leatherette. Top-of-range models even boast quilted leather seats with a diamond stitch pattern. Ambient lighting with 30 colour choices, alongside backlit dash décor, enhance the opulent design.
Improved Comfort and Convenience
Notably, comfort-centric features have been prioritized. A heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a height-adjustable passenger seat now come as standard. In addition, there’s a revamped three-zone Climatronic automatic climate control and a redesigned centre console.
New Trim for Atlas, the Peak Edition
The Atlas, a seven-seater, offers a new trim for 2024: the Peak Edition. This particular model sports unique interior and exterior details including distinctive wheels, all-terrain tires, and black-out exterior touches. Canadian dealerships are expected to begin retailing the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models in Q3 of 2023.

The Atlas lineup includes the Comfortline, starting at $49,995, the Peak Edition at $53,995, Highline at $56,995, and the top-tier Execline R-Line at $59,995. On the other hand, the Atlas Cross Sport lineup offers the Comfortline at $48,895, Highline at $55,895, and the Execline R-Line at $58,895. Each trim level offers a unique set of features, tailoring to the diverse preferences of SUV enthusiasts.
